Manchester United offered chance to sign Bayern Munich star Jerome Boateng for £50m

German international had a nightmare World Cup and will be allowed to leave Bavaria this summer, but could he be the man to fill the gap in defence Mourinho is desperate to fill?

MANCHESTER UNITED have been offered Bayern Munch defender Jerome Boateng, according to reports.

Jose Mourinho is desperate to add an experienced central defender to his ranks before next Friday’s opener against
Leicester City.

United have cooled their interest in the Foxes defender Harry Maguire and have held talks with Barcelona over Yerry Mina, the 25-year-old who has also attracted interest from Everton and Lyon.

Barca need to sell the Colombian to free up room on their non-EU quota for Arturo Vidal who is set to join from Bayern for £27m.

The Bundesliga giants value the former Manchester City man at around £50million and will allow the German international
to leave in this window, report the Daily Mail .

Boateng, 29, saw a switch to Paris Saint-Germain stall this week, but his £50m valuation after a poor World Cup could be
a stumbling block.

United still retain an interest in Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld who will be allowed to leave North London.

Spurs want £50m for the Belgian international who has a year left on his current contract and has refused to extend his stay at the club.

United continue to look at options to offset any potential spending with Marcos Rojo a target for Everton, PSG and Marseille.

After four years at Old Trafford, the 28-year-old Argentina international has been told he can leave.
